Kathmandu University Concludes Nationwide Educators’ Conference on Transformative Learning

Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED), through its Continuing and Professional Education Center (CPEC), successfully concluded a landmark nationwide conference titled “Transformative Learning in Action: Advancing Knowledge and Professionalism among Educators in School.” Spanning from June 21 to July 19, 2025, the initiative reached educators across all seven provinces of Nepal through events held in seven major cities.

The conference series commenced in Biratnagar on June 21, followed by Dhangadi (June 28), Birendranagar and Pokhara (July 5), Birgunj and Butwal (July 12), and concluded in Kathmandu on July 19. More than 1,500 school teachers actively participated, engaging in a wide array of academic and professional development activities.

The primary goal of the conference was to create a national platform for exposure, networking, and reflective dialogue among educators. It facilitated peer learning, the exchange of innovative teaching practices, and collaborative exploration of education challenges and solutions.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of over 200 original research papers by schoolteachers, who shared valuable insights from their classroom experiences, pedagogical innovations, and interpretations of education policy. This diverse contribution significantly enriched the discourse on Nepal’s evolving educational landscape.

Interactive workshops covered critical and timely themes such as School Leadership, Artificial Intelligence in Education, Classroom Pedagogy, and Teacher and Student Well-being, offering participants practical tools and strategies to enhance classroom effectiveness and foster professional growth.

In addition, panel discussions addressed real-world challenges faced by educators, including curriculum implementation and student engagement in the digital era. These conversations were rooted in the Nepali educational context and driven by a collective aspiration to bring about meaningful transformation in schools.

Participants responded enthusiastically, praising the opportunity to connect with fellow educators from across the country and expressing appreciation for the renewed motivation and practical knowledge they gained.

CPEC and KUSOED reaffirmed their commitment to advancing transformative education through ongoing engagement. “This conference has not only empowered teachers across the country but has also strengthened our mission to foster transformative education. We look forward to building on this momentum,” stated the organizers.

The successful organization of the conference series across all seven provinces marks a significant milestone in promoting inclusive, grassroots-level professional development, setting a new standard for practice-oriented educational initiatives in Nepal.
